Day 2 - Could it be Any More Magical?

I made a few notes during our trip.  Often they were written with the emotion and excitement of the moment.  Much of it, I am modifying as it almost sounds too hyped.  But, my notes for this morning started with a triple. "WOW!"  As my boys would say, "Best day ever!" But, since I will never admit it to trump much more important days, (like my wedding day to Jeff or the births of our sons), I'll refrain from overexaggerating. :)

Our fabulous day started with a Disney transportation bus ride from the Beach Club to the Magic Kingdom with just our family.  No other people at the route's stops this early in the morning!  I'm guesssing we were at the stop before 6:30.  While the boys and their dad sat, I stood up by the driver, and chatted with her for the ride to the park.  She was a sweet woman who had a daughter that was to be married soon.  Our connection was so great that we parted with a hug and lots of well wishes to each other.  It was a great start to this terrific day!  Here is the front of the park before 7AM in April:
Our day began as planned with Jeff and the boys heading to the Indy Speedway while I went to Space Mountain for Fast Passes and a quick ride.  The ride on Space Mountain was a first for me.  I wanted to experience it and assess it for my family, who had never rode anything more "thrilling" than Big Thunder Mountain.  I found myself very aware of the jerking, during the ride, and concerned with how Kurt would react to being completely in the dark.  He still sleeps with the lights on. It just wasn't what I expected, I knew Jeff wouldn't care for it and I wasn't confident that the boys would love it.  I'm beginning to think that this ride is going to be a pass for the rest of us.

After the boys ride Indy twice and I have finished my Space Mountain trial run, we meet at Astro Orbiter, where the boys ride twice, (pics above), without anyone else up on the rides elevated platform.  The cast member servicing the ride offers to take our picture and it is the only one of the four of us that we stop for the whole stay in Walt Disney World 2011.
After two hours, in the park, we finish our morning with more rides than I would have expected in much more time.  This turns out to be a really good thing because Kurt isn't doing well our next Magic Kingdom morning planned.
Every single ride is walk on and since we are not coming back this evening we collect no more fast passes.  Here is what else we got to enjoy with no waits at all:
Buzz Lightyear, (2 times)
Peter Pan
The Adventures of Pooh
Snow White's Scary Adventures
the Carousel, (2 times)

Light crowds still:
Mickey's Philharmonic, (my favorite Magic Kingdom attraction)
It's A Small World

We have accomplished everything in Tomorrowland and Fantasyland that I had wanted, (except that I had forgotten to go back to the Carousel of Progress).  We head to Main Street for a snack at the Bakery and watch the loads of people just starting to arrive.  I give away my fast passes for Space Mountain.  We depart against the strong current of new arrivals.

At 11:15, we are enjoying lunch at Boulange Patisserie in EPCOT France.  It was such an easy walk from our room.  I'm already, too busy experiencing our time in the parks themselves, to pause for photographs.  There will be a few, but nowhere near what I would have expected from myself.  And, to think I coordinated all of our outfits just so we could get good pictures! Here is a picture of our clothes preplanned and folded nicely into individual bags:

 and packed:
Crazy, huh?  Actually, it helped tremendously.  There was no time needed for sorting through clothes.  Even our swimgear was coordinated and packed, ready to go.  This was helpful for our next stop, Blizzard Beach.  I had plans to go from 3:00 until 6:00 (closing); but, since our morning went so smoothly, we were ready at 1:30 for more action.

We arrived there around 2:00 and started with two liesurely rounds on the lazy river.  The park was not nearly as crowded as I had expected.  Our crew decided to go ahead and check out the activities.  I did not bring any notes and we ended up missing the Runoff  Rapids, which would have been our favorite, probably.  Jeff and the boys enjoyed the Toboggan Racers.  However, Teamboat Springs ended up being my favorite here.  It is a very, very fun family raft ride.  We went on it as a family, and then, Jason and I wanted to do it a second time.  Jeff and Kurt went back on Cross Country Creek, the lazy river, while Jason and I took another spin at Teamboat.  When we met up again, Kurt had a scrape, from the lazy river, that required a little attention.  After Kurt was cleansed with a "magic" solution, we paused for a snack.  It was clear that his drama was due to a little tiredness, and that most of the rest of us were getting a little edgy.  We departed around 5:00.

Dinner was in EPCOT again. This time we went to Sunshine Season's. Excluding World Showcase's nice counter service diversified menu options, Sunshine Season's is probably my favorite counter service. They have quite a few better quality options. I don't remember the specifics but I believe that Jeff and I had two different stir fry options. And, I know the boys found items that pleased them, as well. Once back in the room, it was early to bed. Night, night.

Credit Where Due

I am grateful for all of the wonderful Disney information in cyberspace. The resources from where I pooled travel and park information is great. You can be find it all through google searches. One little help can be found through YouTube videos. They are great in determining if a ride suits you and your travel companions. However, my strongest recommendation is TourGuideMike.com. Although he does not maintain his site with the diligence that he used to, you still can get terrific guidance if you dig through the site. But, please don't get upset that much of the information is outdated. It won't help to complain. But, all the same, the value is in the fact that Mike shares his philosophies in his advice. When you apply that, his advice cannot be beat. But, to make the most use of his site, one should get comfortable on the member forum. There are several great contributers who will answer your questions and give you the best advice.
